About the project
There really isn't much to say. We plan to visit every Starbucks in Washington, D.C., and record our experiences on this site. There is really no reason to do this and we realize it is a colossal waste of time.
We feel much better about this having discovered that this guy is trying to visit every Starbucks in the world. In contrast, our project seems much more reasonable and attainable.
We have three rules to guide us:
- Taxonomy. To qualify for inclusion in this site, a Starbucks must be within the political borders of the District of Columbia. It must also be a freestanding store, which means it must have its own owned or leased four walls. So, we do not include food court kiosks, cafes at Barnes and Noble, hotel concessions or the like.
- Photos. For every store we visit, we will post a photo of the location and photos of what we consumed. The drinks are likely going to be the same very often since we have our favorites.
- Commentary. We'll provide some very brief notes on each store, including a description of the location, the store's clientele, and the distance to the nearest Starbucks.
We don't plan to review each store as such since the coffee is equally inoffensive at every location and high staff turnover makes opinions about service pretty useless. However, we'll note anything special we find. Please feel free to add your own comments about the different stores.
Cheers,
Jacinda & Jerry
